Best Mountain Bike Trails
Looking for the Best Mountain Bike Trails in the Jasper Arkansas, Ozark, and Buffalo River area?
With the Help of the Walton foundation, Northwest Arkansas (about an hour away) has become a Mountain Bike mecca in a very few short years. In fact, this area of Arkansas has been named the Mountain Bike (MTB) Capital of the World with many competitions now being held at our local Ponca downhill trail. We don’t have quite the manicured trails as our big brother/sister in the Fayetteville/Bentonville area, but we do have a couple of the most beautiful and scenic areas in all of Arkansas to ride a mountain bike in. And we have one of only two shuttle service available trails in Arkansas. If Downhill is what you seek checkout Ponca Downhill. One of the Top 2 downhill trails in Arkansas! If a nice scenic trail is what you are after we have the best mountain bike trail for that too, but keep in mind it’s not as manicured as most.
Ponca – downhill
Ponca has some of the longest downhill trails in Arkansas! You can pay the BOC to drive you back to the top. Don’t let me mislead you, there is a little pedaling to get to the bottom. This is good fun. The trails arent as maintaned as some NWA trails but you could get away with a hard tail here.

Upper Buffalo Mountain Bike Trail System
Upper Buffalo Mountain Bike Trail is an adventure along 40 miles of interconnecting mountain bike trails that loop through the Upper Buffalo River area, in the scenic section of the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest. These trails are rugged. Last time I took some folks to these trails I ended up riding back by myself and driving to pick them up. Full suspension is necessary here.
