If you are trying to find a good area to go for some weekend offroading or overlanding, Newton County could be the place for you! There are many miles of roads and trails for UTVs, Dirtbikes and other off roading vehicles. In the Newton County area, our favorite is Car Wash falls.

Car Wash Falls earned its name due to its unique feature of being a drive-through and drive-under waterfall, accessible only by a Jeep, 4×4, or ATV. Situated in the Ozark mountains, this extraordinary waterfall resembles a car wash located in the remote wilderness. The waterfall’s size is influenced by the amount of rainfall, with bigger rain resulting in a grander waterfall experience.

Not far from Car Wash Falls is a place us locals call Hanging tree. With many mudding opportunities almost all year long. We like to head over tto Hanging Tree and play in the mud before we wash off at the carwash falls.

Car Wash Falls flows alongside Big Piney Creek, cascading from the bluff’s top onto the muddy gravel road below. 

As you venture through the surrounding woods, you’ll be immersed in the captivating beauty of nature at every turn, making it a haven for outdoor recreation and off-road enthusiasts. To access the falls, be prepared to wade through a stream and check the water’s depth before proceeding on the off-road trail. During times of high water levels, alternative routes may be necessary to access the falls, ensuring a thrilling off-roading experience. Additionally, the area offers off-roading opportunities on various four-wheeling trails, including UTV riding and 4-wheeler riding. If you’re interested in venturing off the beaten path, there are numerous hiking trails leading to other scenic waterfalls in the vicinity.
