Top 5 waterfalls in Arkansas

Ok, I think there are 7 “must see” waterfalls but only five are really hikes. Click on the name to get directions and more information about the waterfall.

Arkansas boasts more captivating waterfalls than most states, offering an amazing experience during your travel. These picturesque waterfalls in this “best waterfalls” list are all must-see waterfalls. We’ve got the most extensive list of waterfall trails anywhere on our hiking page.

#1 Best waterfall hike:

Lost Valley – Eden Falls

At 2.3 miles this is one most can do! The most adventurous will want to bring a flashlight for this one and be prepared to get a little wet, at top of the upper Eden Falls trail there is a path into a hidden cave. Inside the cave is a waterfall. This trail has 3 great waterfalls on it.

#2 Best waterfall hike:

Pedestal Rocks/Kings Bluff

At around 2 miles for just the bluff waterfall and 5 miles if you want to explore both trails. This trail offers some unique sites, the iconic pedestal rocks, as well as arches, caves, overhangs, and in spring or after a rain a couple of waterfalls off of Kings Bluff.

#3 Best waterfall hike:

Hemmed in Hollow

At 209 feet high, Hemmed-In Hollow Falls is the tallest waterfall between the Appalachians and the Rocky Mountains.  Around a 6 mile round trip. Just another you cant see anywhere else that I think should be on everyone’s list. Go during the wetter season.

#4 Best waterfall hike:

The Glory Hole

4.6 miles round trip. This waterfall starts up above and before the ledge and pours down through a hole into the large shelter cave below the ledge. Glory Hole is cool for sure, plus the fact that it is a relatively easy hike makes it a must do and puts in on this list.

#5 Best waterfall hike:

Triple Falls

This trail is a great hike for the whole family.  At only .35 of a mile roundtrip , it offers a beautiful reward. Its spring fed, so running most of the year. Located very near to Jasper. The road in can be rough.

Another great waterfall:

Car Wash Falls

This is the easiest and one of the most unique waterfalls ever. You drive your vehicle under it (So technically not a hike).  Off-Road vehicle needed.

Another great waterfall:

Six Finger Falls

At 100 feet off the road, I wouldn’t really call this a hike either but more a roadside falls. But you might as well stop, it’s well worth it. Can be slippery descending to the area after recent rains, but nothing terrible. It’s a unique fall for sure, haven’t seen anything else quite like it in the state.
