Bowers Hollow & McClure Falls
Bowers Hollow & McClure Falls
Description
If you come from the south, you will need a 4-wheel drive and the buffalo river will have to be under a couple feet at the Boxley gauge as you will cross the Buffalo River. Coming from the north is a bit longer on a dirt road but can be done in most taller cars.
This is listed as a 56-foot-tall waterfall. It’s impressive but a long drive and the hike is on the longer side. This trail begins on an old trail off of a Forest Service Road ending in what some would consider a short bushwack along creek to the top of the falls. Walk along the bluff line for .25 a mile to get to the end and come back to get to the bottom of the falls. Trailhead off of FR#1410. Dogs are allowed on trail.
